Well, as most people know, our foods are smothered with chemicals that I am sure you wouldn't want to know. We, of course, don't see them but these chemicals are needed to preserve, make the food look good and taste good.

Anything not natural, therefore artificial is already an inorganic food. Chemicals are also included. So, what are the advantages of eating organic food besides not eating poison unknowingly?

Here are 3 of the most important benefits from going organic:

1. “Fruits and veggies grown organically show significantly higher levels of cancer-fighting antioxidants than conventionally grown foods, according to a study of corn, strawberries and marionberries,” Allison Byrum of the American Chemical Society reported. “The research suggests that pesticides and herbicides actually thwart the production of phenolics. Fertilizers, however, seem to boost the levels of anti-cancer compounds.”

2. “once the animal has been slaughtered and the meat is being prepared for human consumption, additives are often added [which] research has shown may be harmful to human health. Organic meat is reared more naturally [that] the meat has its own natural flavor, texture and color, and does not need any artificial enhancers.”

3. The Organic Trade Association provided this evidence, “Rats fed organic food were slimmer, slept better, and had stronger immune systems than those fed conventionally grown produce, according to a team of scientists from the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences and a Newcastle University scientist.”

There are several other reasons in going organic. Remember, eating healthy is not only for you. It is also for your family.
